Extension & Customization Architecture

All projects within this repository network are architected with modularity and extensibility as primary directives. This guide outlines how to safely modify global themes, implement bespoke UI components, and attach new domain logic to backend services.

🎨 Global UI Theming (Tailwind CSS)

The visual identity of frontend applications is strictly governed by Tailwind CSS configuration files, ensuring a centralized, easily mutable design system.

To enact sweeping visual changes across an entire application: 1. Locate the tailwind.config.js (or tailwind.config.ts) file situated in the project's root directory. 2. Extend the base theme rather than overwriting it, preserving utility classes. * Color Palettes: Modify theme.extend.colors to inject new primary/secondary brand colors (e.g., swapping a generic blue for a curated hex brand token). * Typography: Update the fontFamily mapping to implement new web-safe or Google Fonts universally.

🧩 Modifying React Components

Component architecture is strictly isolated within the src/components/ directory (or specific domain folders for feature-sliced designs).

  • Atomic Design Constraints: When modifying a low-level component (e.g., a Button), bear in mind that it will propagate throughout the application. Ensure backward compatibility with existing properties.
  • Type Safety: If the project employs TypeScript, rigidly adhere to updating the interface or type definitions attached to your component props prior to modifying internal logic. If using plain JavaScript, update the PropTypes validations to catch runtime integration errors.

⚙️ Backend Logic Extension

Backend scalability relies entirely on respecting the inherent framework architectures.

Expanding Django Monoliths

Django specifically isolates domains into "Apps". Do not convolute existing applications with disjointed logic. * If establishing a new domain (e.g., adding a "Reviews" system to an E-commerce platform), isolate the data models and views. bash python manage.py startapp reviews * Ensure the new app is registered within the INSTALLED_APPS matrix in settings.py.

Expanding FastAPI Microservices

FastAPI utilizes decoupled routing mechanics to maintain logical separation. * Construct a new routing module inside the api/ or routers/ directory (e.g., api/analytics.py). * Instantiate an APIRouter and explicitly mount it onto the core application instantiated in main.py utilizing app.include_router().
